New Zealand Holiday - 2005/2006

Adrian and Jill's holiday to New Zealand via Singapore (outbound) and Bangkok (homeward bound). I will be adding albums to this page to reflect different events of the holiday, so watch this space.

Singapore - A lot of the pictures in Singapore were night shots and quite dark as a result. Please make allowances, the rest of the pictures are much better.

Christchurch Races - Race meeting in Christchurch - this was our first chance to meet many members of the family. It was a great day and almost profitable!

North Island - Just before Xmas we toured North Island - Wellington, Taupo, Rotorua, Coromandel and the finally Auckland. These are pictures from that part of our holiday.

Xmas Morning - Jill and I woke up on Xmas morning to find a stocking for each of us hanging in wait. It was a lovely surprise and my first stocking since I was a kid. The first photo is of Bobby exactly 11 minutes after being given HIS Xmas present. His next one lasted only 4 minutes!

Darryl's on Xmas Day - We popped over to Darryl's later on Xmas morning. Nicole and Nigel were there with the children, so being short of up to date photos of the children - I snapped them!

Xmas Day at Lal's - I'm shocked at just how few photos I took on Xmas Day. Still I managed to get Carwyn and Gareth while I had the chance!

Darryl's on Boxing day - I really must use the camera more. Still - a few nice shots at Darryl's on Boxing Day.

Milford Sound - It's a long way to Milford Sound from Queenstown but the scenery on the way, the way back and while you are there is breathtaking! Photos can't do it justice I'm afraid.

Queenstown - We'd LIVE here, it's beautiful and it's hard NOT to get a hotel with a view of the lake. The last 2 photos were taken from the top of the hill where the cable car drops you off.

Arrowtown - cute place near Queenstown, like a Wild West Gold mining town.

South Island - Just a general section for some odd photos - mostly taken travelling from Franz Josef back to Christchurch on New Year's Eve - the last couple were overlooking Akaroa from the pub on the top of the hill. The first 2 were on New Year's Eve at Rhi and Steve's - Jill's first encounter with Dudley!

Christchurch Gondola - We did just about every Cable Car in New Zealand. With this one Lal, Dan and Jo were with us.

Whale Watching at Kaikoura - Not our most successful day. There was a 2 metre swell which made it hard to see the whales let alone take any decent photos! Still, it was a unique experience. Still? It was anything BUT still!

Sydney - I can't believe I only took 1 photo in Sydney? I know for a fact there's a harbour bridge one somewhere!

Bangkok - Jill and I have different memories of Bangkok. I liked it, she didn't, although we both LOVED the Hotel - Royal Orchid Sheraton - Most of the photos were from our tour of the Grand Palace.

Bangkok (last night) - We went for a Dinner cruise on our last night in Bangkok. It was weird - Bangkok is a huge place with dozens of different Dinner Cruise Companies. We booked this online months ago not knowing where we had to pick up the boat from. As it turned out, the Jetty was right next to our hotel - spooky huh?
